Funeral services were held Wednesday for Emmett Biggs, 81, of Danville, Ill., former manager of a feed store at Ridgefarm, Ill., and telegrapher for a railroad. Burial was in Crown Point Cemetery at Ridgefarm. The father of Emmett Biggs Jr. of 1405 W. Main St., Crawfordsville, he died Sunday night in Veterans Administration Hospital at Danville where he had been a patient three years. Mr. Biggs was decorated for his service overseas during World War I. The son of Alonzo and Nora Downs Biggs, he was born Sept. 6, 1892. Surviving besides the son here are three granddaughters, Mrs. John (Patti) Holman and Pam and Jana Biggs, all of Crawfordsville, and three great-grandchildren. Two sisters and four brothers are deceased. – jlr
