Waynetown - Mrs. Maggie E. Biddle, 89, died at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 1964 at the IOOF Home in Greensburg. She had been bedfast five years after breaking her hip, then she was taken to the home. She was born August 4, 1875, in Waynestown, the daughter of Sanford F. and Amanda (Hauk) Gray. On Nov. 17, 1891, she was married to John W. Biddle at Covington and he died many years ago. She attended Liberty church, north of Crawfordsville, also the First Baptist Church, Waynestown, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid Society. She attended the Elmdale school. Until going to the Odd Fellows Home she had spent her entire life in and around Waynestown where her husband was a long time hardware dealer. Mrs. Biddle is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Applegate, a granddaughter, Mrs. Raymond Ping, both of Crawfordsville, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Loran Tompson, of Aurora, Colo., also for(sic) great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by a daughter, Mrs. May Conner, and a son, Jesse Biddle. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Servies Funeral Home, followed by burial in the Waynestown Cemetery. Rev. Myron Hinton officiated. Mrs. Nellis Snyder was organist and played requested numbers: "No Night There," "Beyond the Sunset," "Oh, That Will Be Glory For Me," "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," and "When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder." Serving as pallbearers and assisting with the flowers were: Harold Conner, Burton Pendleton, Lee Vern Ellis, Walter Runyan, Raymond Hampton, and Lynn Richardson. - kbz
