Sgt. Clarence G. Biddle arrived in America at Newport News, VA on a transport Dec 20, according to a letter received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pruitt. He stated in his letter that he was en route to Camp Taylor, KY, and expected to return to his home in the near future. He also stated that his younger brother, Corp. James L. Biddle, had been transferred to the 53rd division of the second army of occupation. Clarence is in the supply company of the 152nd Infantry. - kbz

Waynetown, Sept 11 - Clarence Glenn Biddle, 46, a veteran of WWI and member of old Co C 152nd Inf of Crawfordsville died suddenly Monday morning at his home two and one-half miles SW of Waynetown as he was preparing to hold a farm sale. Death was caused by a heart ailment. Born June 30, 1898, near Waynetown, Mr. Biddle was the son of Philip and Elva Sanders Biddle. He was married September 1, 1938 to Lorraine Buntin of Greenup, Ky who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Katherine, age 2 at home; two sons, Sgt Philip K. Biddle of Chicago and James C. Biddle at home; a sister, Mrs. A.H. Duke of Waynetown; one brother, James I. Biddle also of Waynetown, a half brother, Robert Pruitt of Crawfordsville, a half-sister, Mrs. Ruth Ann Wenimons of Rochester, NY. A half sister, Sue Pruitt, preceded him in death. Mr. Biddle was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church and the Waynetown Masonic Lodge. He enlisted March 1917. Mr. Biddle also was a member of the Hillsboro post of American Legion, VFW and Disabled Veterans. The body was taken to the Grenard & Servies Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Baptist Church in Waynetown with burial at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
