Mrs. Maud O. Bennett, 79, 301 S. Green St., was found dead at her home Friday night by relatives who were called by neighbors after they had not seen her during the day. Death was attributed to natural causes. Mrs. Bennett held secretarial positions in Crawfordsville for a number of years including several years as secretary of the First Methodist Church. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Athens Chapter of Order of Eastern Star and Business and Professional Women's Club. She also was a past matron of the Order of Eastern Star at Waynetown. She resided at Waynetown before moving to Crawfordsville in 1925. Born Oct. 27, 1887, at Brookston, she was a daughter of Austin and Elizabeth Agee Keplinger. She was married Oct. 12, 1915, to Erwin Carl Bennett. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Alma Morgan of Crawfordsville; a granddaughter, Mrs. Don Hester of Indianapolis, and two grandsons, Rick and Rod Morgan of Crawfordsville. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Little will officiate. Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after noon Sunday.

Funeral services for Maud O. Bennett were held Monday afternoon at Hunt and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Little officiating. Burial was in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers and assisting with the floral tributes were Robert Lookabill, Edwin Shea, J. B. Bowman, Edward Swain, C. Fred Stockall and Claude Connelly. Selections were played on the organ by Mrs. O. C. Edwards. - transcribed by jr
