Linden — Mrs. Clara Taylor Bennett, 73, died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette after a two week illness. Born Aug. 29, 1884 in Parke Co., she was the daughter of William and Arminda Williamson Taylor. She was a member of the Linden Methodist Church and had lived in the community for the last 35 years. She was married to Charles C. Bennett in 1904. Mr. Bennett died in 1949. Surviving are four sons, Maurice, Donald, and Charles, all of Linden and William K., of Lafayette; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Sanders of Stockwell and Mrs. Gladys Haltom of Colfax; a brother, William A. Taylor of Phoenix, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and a niece and nephew. Three sons and a daughter preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday at the Linden Methodist Church with Rev. Glenn Clark officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Linden Cemetery. Friends may call at the Russell E. Brown Funeral Home after noon Friday.
