Mrs. Maggie Beck, wife of Frank Beck, died of consumption at her home, ten miles east of Crawfordsville, at 7:30 o’clock, July 1.
Funeral was Saturday at 2 p.m. at the family residence, Rev. Mr. Ewers, of Darlington, officiating.
Maggie Burroughs Beck, aged twenty two years and eleven months, died of consumption July 1 after an illness of five months. She leaves a husband, father, mother, one brother, three sisters and a host of friends to mourn her loss.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Short funeral services were conducted on July 3 by Rev. Ewers at her home and interment was at Shannondale.
In February, 1895, she was married to Frank Beck. She was a loving and devoted wife. Her life was one of gentleness, kindness and sympathy. Words cannot carry consolation to this loving husband, who with sad and heavy heart returned to his lonely home, where there is no one who can fill her place in the vacant chair or take her place in his heart.
‘Twas a sad task for those who did the last office for this loved one. But she has gone up among the angels, where her loving ways and bright eyes are more beautiful even than here. We will never see her dear face again on earth, but Christ, in his infinite mercy, prepares us a way for life eternal. May heaven’s richest blessing rest upon her bereaved husband and parents.
