Suffering a heart attack while driving his automobile, Claude C. Bean, 53 years old, 109 South 7th Avenue, Beech Grove died late Thursday night when returning home from his work as a switchman on the Best railroad. Mrs. Bean was driving from Second Street into Main Street in Beech Grove when he was stricken. His automobile ran over the curb, crossed a sidewalk and stopped on a lawn. Dr. Hugh K. Thatcher, a deputy coroner, said death apparently was due to a heart attack. Mr. Bean was born in Advance, Boone County and later lived for several years in Crawfordsville. He came to Indianapolis 20 years ago and had been an employee of the Best Railroad since that time. He was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 o’clock Monday morning at the residence. Burial will be in Crown Hill cemetery. Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Kate E. Bean; a son, Robert Bean, Indianapolis; his mother, Mrs. Mary Bean, Crawfordsville and two sisters, Mrs. Janie Douglas, Crawfordsville and Mrs. Eva Gee, Dundee, Mich. – kbz
