Beam - Victoria Hankins

Mrs. Beam, wife of Cyrus Beam of Waynetown died Saturday of consumption and was buried Monday. The following ladies were pallbearers: Mesdames Delia Holman; Lida Swearingen; Emma Wilkinson; Emma Caveren; Vina Underwood and Miss Ella Swearingen. She had been ll for several months, her sickness dates back some months at which time it is said that a doctor neglected to perform his duty and her dispase really relates to that time., Yesterday her five months old baby died, the result of the dregs of disease im;parted by the mother. The child was buried Thursday. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Louk at the residence. Victoria Hankins was born in 1864 and married Aug 31, 1884. She leaves a husband and five children: Walter, 10 years old; Mabel 8; Howard 6; Eva 4; Ruth 5 months (sic - thought this one died). She died Aug 31. Her wish was to live with her family till she could raise them, but her time had come and she was called for and she was willing to go. She said heaven was beautiful and she cold walk on flowers. At the last moment she raised her hands to heaven and passed away shouting.
