Mrs. Bert McGaughey writes us from Reseda, a suburb of Hollywood, California. "Just a line to tell you of our sorrow. Helen's husband passed away in the General Hospital at Los Angeles on Monday, June 25 of pneumonia. He was cremated yesterday (June 29) and his ashes will be put at Valhalla, a beautiful place about 9 mi. from us, near Burbank. His baby daughter, Patricia, was 3 months old the 28th. His sickness lasted 3 months and everything was done within human power but to no avail. God's will was that he go and is at rest. Joe was the son of Ora and Stella Beckelheimer and grandson of the late John Miles and was born in Waveland, Feb 7, 1898. After the marriage of his mother he took the name of his stepfather, Frye. He is survived by the wife, who is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. McGaughey and by two sisters, Mrs. Grace Gross of Reseda and Mrs. Ruby Mattson of Morris, ILL. A brother, Lawrence died at the age of two years. -- kbz
