BARKER, Martha VanMeter - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

Romney, Aug 31 – Mrs. Martha Jane Barker, 79, local resident died in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette today at 6:20 a.m. of heart trouble.  Born in Montgomery County she was a member of the Romney ME Church.  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Branstetters, Fairbury, Ill; five sons: Charles A, Lafayette; John, Raymond and Frank all of here and George, Waynetown; a sister, Mrs. John Ward, Lafayette; and two brothers, James VanMeter, Indianapolis and Grant of Lafayette.  Friends may call at the home of Frank Barker after Friday noon.  The body will lie in state an hour before the services Saturday at 2 p.m. from Romney Methodist Church.  Burial in Elmwood cemetery. ~~~Transcribed and Typed by kbz
