BANTZ, Charles - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

Attica, Ind April 27 – Charles Bantz, well known and highly esteemed Fountain County farmer died very unexpectedly Tuesday morning between 3 and 4 o’clock at his home south of Rob Roy.  Mr.  Bantz had been suffering for several weeks from indigestion, but neither he nor his family thought the attacks were serious.  Monday he had been in Covington all day, returning home in the evening.  He retired early and about 11 o’clock called his daughter, Mrs. Lola Carlson who resides with him, telling her he  was ill.  His condition gradually grew worse and at 2 o’clock Mrs. Carlson called a physician.  Mr. Bantz died while the doctor was preparing  a hypodermic to relieve his intense suffering.  Mr. Bantz was 62 years old.  He was a prominent worker in the Republican party and was one time county highway superintendent.  Mr. Bantz is survived by three sons: Leonard, Marshall and Noland and two brothers, Ollie and John Bantz both residing near Covington.  Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2;30 P.M.
