WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Mrs. Edith A. Jenks Bayes, 65, of West Lafayette, died at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 29, 1976) in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. She had been a patient since Sept. 26 and ill for the past four years. She was born in Parke County, Ind., the daughter of E. L. and May Hybarger Jenks. She married Chester A. Bayes in 1942. He survives. Mrs. Bayes was a member of Federated Church, Order of Eastern Star Hope Chapter 5 and West Lafayette Business and Professional Women. She was a graduate of Covington High and Utterback's Business College in Danville, Ill. She worked at Sears for 27 years and was a supervisor there before her illness. Other survivors include a son, Arthur Bayes of West Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Lula Misner of Covington; two brothers, Marvin Jenks of Covington and Clifford Jenks of Veedersburg. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Baker-Sollars Funeral Home in Lafayette. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Lafayette.--waw
