NORTH SALEM – Donnell A. Baxter, 71, of North Salem, who worked at Madden Furniture Co. at Indianapolis 40 years, died at 1:40 a.m. today in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis. He had been a patient there about 10 days. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite. He was born at Indianapolis on Jan. 14, 1903, a son of Joseph and Mae Lewis Baxter. He attended schools at Indianapolis and was married to Zella M. Russell of Greenfield on Dec. 4, 1929. She survives. Also surviving is a brother, Glenn of Indianapolis. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Porter Funeral Home at North Salem. Burial will be in Washington Park East at Indianapolis. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. – jlr
