NORTH SALEM – Frank E. Barnhart, 83-year-old North Salem area resident, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in Hendricks County Hospital at Danville. He had been hospitalized two weeks. Mr. Barnhart farmed all of his adult life. Born March 8, 1882, at Crawfordsville, he was a son of Peter and Harriett Barnhart. He was married in 1934 to Opal Broach. They were married at Danville. Survivors include the widow; six sons, Homer of Las Vegas, Nev., Frank of Rockville, Robert and Donald of North Salem and Jerry and Ronald at home; four daughters, Mrs. Bernice Beecher and Mrs. Lois Clore of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Phyllis Bennett of North Salem and Mrs. Judy Nave of Hillsboro; 15 grandchildren and seven great- and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Porter Funeral Home here with Rev. Ray Britton officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery here. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Wednesday. – jlr
