Funeral services for D. W. Barnett, a Crawfordsville realtor, were conducted Thursday afternoon at Bright Funeral Home by Rev. John R. Servies. Men serving as pallbearers and assisting with the many floral offerings were Clifford Quigg of near Crawfordsville, Paul Sayler of New Richmond, Dr. Richard A. Laubengayer, D. O. Dulin, Beecher Young and Robert Stump of this city. Curtis E. Bright played requested selections on the organ. Burial was on the family plot in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. – jlr

Dellsworth W. (Del) Barnett, 87, 614 E. Wabash Ave, a local real estate salesman, died Monday night in Culver Hospital after being a patient there for three days.  He was born April 16, 1874, west of the city in the Christian Union Chapel neighborhood. His parents were John and Matilda Salisbury Barnett. He was first married to Etee (?) Ball, who died in 1925. On Dec 24, 1927, he married Ida Dotson. After attending county schools he took a business course at a school in Covington.  He lived in St. Joseph Ill for five years and entered the real estatebusiness at Crawfordsville in 1938, specializing in farm sales. He was a member of the Christian Union Church and held the office of trustee there for many years. He also was a member of the K or P Lions Club and the Fraternal Order of Police. His favorite hobbies were traveling and fishing.  Survivors include his wife, two sons, Wilbur L. Barnett of Springfield, Ohio and Carroll Barnett of Waynetown; a daughter, Mrs. John D. Dolbeer of Springfield, Ohio; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Ida Switzer and a brother Clyde. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bright Funeral Home. Rev. John R. Servies will officiate. Burial will be in Waynetown Cemetery.
