Barnard- William
Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal Friday 22 May 1896
William Barnard, a man more than sixty five years of age, was crushed to death Wednesday. While on the way from the woods near Roachdale, his horses became frightened and started to run away veering out of the road and the wagon was overturned. There was an immense saw log on the wagon upon which Mr. Barnard was seated. When the wagon overturned Barnard was carried to the earth with it and in some way failed to jump. The great log struck him crushing his breast horribly, breaking his neck and both legs. Of course he was instantly killed. He was a sober, hard working man and had the respect of the whole community. - thanks muches to S for this one !
