Waynetown - Claude A. Ballard, 66, a farmer most of his life died at 9 p.m. Sunday at his home, three miles south of Waynetown.  He had been an invalid several years and seriously ill three weeks.  Death was attributed to a heart condition.  Born June 3, 1886 in Boone County, Mr. Ballard was the son of John and ALice Cheshire Ballard.  He married Tillie Clodfelter of Russellville Aug 27, 1908.  He was a member of the Russellville Christian Church.

Surviving are the widow; two sons, Vergil Ballard, Crawfordsville and Ancil Ballard at home; a daughter, Mrs. Lester Murdock of near Waynetown; six grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Ballard, Lebanon and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Ottinger, Frankfort.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances who was killed in an automobile accident four miles northwest of Waynetown Sept 7, 1935.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Waynetown Christian Church with burial at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.  Rev. James Pfouts will be the officiating minister. Friends may call at the funeral home.
