Virgil A. Ballard, 67, a former resident of Crawfordsville died Saturday morning in Community Memorial Hospital at Chico, Calif. He had lived in Chico for the past three years. Mr. Ballard was a representative for the Purina Feed Co at Scotts Prairie Feed Mill near Hillsboro. He was an insurance agent while living here. He was a 1928 graduate of Russellville HS. Born May 22, 1911 near Russellville, he was a son of Claude and Tillie Clodfelter Ballard. He was first married to Mary Randolph. He was married to Jean Harper of Crawfordsville in 1946. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Jerry; three daughters, Mrs. Martha Ulyatt of Remindton, Mrs. Sharon Beatty and Norma Needham both of Chico; a brother, Ancil of Waynetown and five grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Bertrell Murdock and Miss Frances Ballard are deceased. Services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chico. Burial will be in Waynetown at a later dated.
