Parkersburg – C William Ballard, 70, a Parkersburg antique dealer, died Monday morning after a long illness. He was a native of Shelbyville and was a Parkersburg resident for the past 10 years. He was a member of the Crawfordsville Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Byron Cox Post 72 of the American Legion. He was a veteran of WWI. Survivors include the widow, May; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Ann Anderson of West Vancouver British Columbia; a son, Don G. Ballard of Monrovia, three brothers, Richard Ballard of Encinitas, Calif; Burnett B Ballard of Esconbido, Calif and Harold Ballard of Washington Ore and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Bright Funeral Home with Rev. Carlton Christenson of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 pm Tuesday.
