Crawfordsville – Retired Alcoa employee, Arley Baity, 80 died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in his home at 206 Morgan St, Crawfordsville following an extended illness.  He was born in Indianaola, Ill.  Mr. Baity served in the Marine Corps from 1926-1930 and was in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Mr. Baity retired from Alcoa in 1967.  He was married in 1943 to Thelma Irene Palin who survives. Also surviving are a son, Donald Norman Baity of Kokomo and two daughters, Nancy Carol Dickerson of New Market and Linda Shultz of Wingate. - kbz
Arley Baity, 81, Crawfordsville, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, October 21, at his home.

  Born December 13, 1901 in Indianola, Illinois, he was the son of Albert and Celectia Brown Baity. He married Thelma Irene Talin on May 29, 1943 and she survives.

  He retired in January of 1967 from Alcoa Aluminum. He served with the Marine Corp from 1926 to 1930 and was in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints.

  Other survivors include a son, Donald Norman of Kokomo; two daughters, Nancy Carol Dickerson of New Market and Linda Shultz of Wingate; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wheeler and Wilbur.

  Services were conducted Sunday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville with Rev. Thomas Savoldie officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery near Newtown. = s
