Bacon - Mirtle Birge

Special to the Journal -- Hillsboro Nov 12 - Mrs. Milton Bacon died at her home south of here Sunday night about 11 o'clock following a a ten day illness of influenza. The entire family, the parents and ive little children have been ill with the disease and the death of two of the children is expected at any time. Mrs. Bacon was 29 years old and born and reared iun Kentucky, where she lived until two years ago when they moved to the community and were residing on the Hyson Myer farm at the time of her death. Besides her husband and five small children she leaves four brother and two sisters, Will, Arthur and George Birge of this place, James Birge of Kentucky and Mrs. Maggie Ford and and mrs. Lola Hodges both residing in Kentucky. Arrangements hav enot been completed for the funeral service but it is reported that the body will be taken to her former home in Kentucky for burial.
Mrs. Kate Simmons wife of Mause Simmons a prominent farmer residing northeast of here died Sunday evening about 5 o'clock after a brief illness of influenza which developed into double pneumonia. She is survived by her husband, four sons and two daughters; two brothers, Am and Wilbert Short residing northeast of here and two sisters, Mrs. Jon A. Stephens of Mellott and Mrs. Ed Oyler of near here. The funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
Note: Mirtle was born in 1889 and died 10 Nov 1918 buried Waynetown Masonic Cemetery
Her husband Milton C. Bacon born 3 Aug 1886 died on the 12th and also is buried there
Daughter Mary Louise also there she being born in the year earlier but passing 12 Nov 1918 - although it sounds like more they were either taken to Kentucky or did not pass. (hope the latter)
