George, the five year old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Babbitt, died last Friday at the family residence on East Jefferson Street. The funeral was conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home, Rev. A. J. Alexander officiating.
More than a year ago the manly little fellow was taken sick and one disease followed another, each hard on its predecessor, giving him no relief from pain or suffering. Still through the agony which would have wrung many a more seasoned life, he displayed a fortitude, patience, and gentleness that astonished the watchers at his side. His spirit was a sweet one and the memory of the short, bright life can but be an inspiration to those that saw it. -s
