Mrs. Anna Lee Babb, age 84, sister of Mrs. Clint (Mary) Smith of Covington, James Bowers of Veedersburg and Dan Bowers of Covington, died at 6:50 p. m. Monday, May 12, in Iroquois Hospital, Watseka, Ill., where she had been a patient two days. She was born April 30, 1874, in Covington, the daughter of Jacob and Rosie Kelly Bowers. She was married Aug. 27, 1899 to Julius S. Babb, who preceded her in death, Dec. 9, 1950. She had made her home in Watseka with her daughter, Ruth, since the death of her husband. The couple formerly resided west of Kingman and also had resided in Danville and Watseka. Mrs. Babb was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Covington. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Butzow and Mrs. Ruth Anderson, both of Watseka; one son, Roy Babb of Barrington, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Smith of Covington; two brothers, James of Veedersburg and Dan of Covington, and three grandchildren. The body is at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home where Rosary will be recited at 8:30 o'clock tonight, May 15. Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Friday morning at St Joseph's Catholic Church. The Rev. Otto Peters will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery here.
