Henry Manson BARKER, 91, a farmer in the Grange Corner community most of his life, died at 2 a.m. Friday, June 8, 1962 at Allen Nursing Home, Rockville. He was born April 21, 1871 in Fountain county, son of James and Rachel Lawson Barker. On Dec 18, 1911 he married Mary Etta Hayden in Rockville. He was a member of the Friends Union Church and was at one time supervisor of Sugar Creek Twp roads in Parke County. He also managed his own farm even though he had been blind since the age of 8. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Fauneal Wood and Mrs. Geraldine Holland of Waveland; two sons, Henry and Earl; 3 grandchildren; two greats and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday in Friends Union Church near Grange Corner with Rev. Arlin Pittman officiating. Music was by Miss Sylvia Burkhart. Pall bearers were Hubert and Robert Delp; Wayne Myers; David Blacketer; Oral Simmons and Joe Thomas. Burial in Wolf Creek Cemetery with Machledt & Servies Funeral home in charge. - kbz
