Feb 20, 1959 - Elmer Barker, 75, died at 1 a.m. Wednesday at St. Eliz. Hospital, Danville, Ill. He had been hospitalized 8 days. He was born May 7, 1883, son of Isaac & Mary Shoaf Barker. He was married July 27, 1908 to Leona Hicks. Mr. Barker farmed near Veedersburg and was formerly of Kingman. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Church and I.O.O.F. Lodge #339 and Rebekah Lodge in Kingman. Survivors include the widow, a brother Guy, a sister, Mrs. Claude Tunin of Cates. He was preceded in death by a brother. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday at the Woodrow Funeral home in Kingman with the Rev. Dubois officiating, assisted by Rev. Dale Wilson. Burial in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery.

Elmer Barker, 75, of Veedersburg, Rt 2, died at 1:00 a.m. Wed. in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, where he had been a patient 8 days. A farmer, Mr. Barker was b. May 7, 1883 in Park (sic) County, son of Isaac and Mary Elizabeth Shoaf Barker. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 339 of Kingman. Leona Hicks who survives. Also surviving are a brother, Guy Barker of Kingman and a sister, Mrs. Clyde Tunin of Cates. Services will be at 2:00 p.m today (Friday) at the Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman with the Rev. Paul DuBois officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dale Wilson. Burial will be in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery.
