Waynetown, April 19 -- Mrs. Nancy Baldwin, widow of Joseph Baldwin and one of the oldest women in Montgomery County passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Isaac Harshbarger, near Elmdale early Saturday morning after a brief illness. Mrs. Baldwin's death was caused by a broken hip which she sustained recently. The deceased who was born at Greenfield, Ohio was 91. She was born March 13, 1839, the daughter of TW (sic - should be LW) and Lavonia Ashley Baldwin (sic - should be Bannon). When six, she came to this county and had lived ever since in and near Waynetown. On Feb 10, 1858 she was united in marriage to Joseph A. Baldwin. She was a member of the Liberty Christian Church and was a highly respected woman in her home community. Those suriviving are two sons, WT Baldwin of Edmore, Michigan and Elias D. of new Richmond; five daughters, Mrs. lavonia McCampbell of Marshall, Mrs. Elizabeth Harshbarger of Elmdale, Rachel T. Mason and Malinda A. Davis, both of Phillips, Wis and Mabel I. Wainscott of Gary. 36 grandchildren, 51 greats and 3 great, great grandchildren survive. The funeral services will be held at Liberty Christian Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with burial in Masonic Cemetery at Wayentown. Rev. WW Roberts of Crawfordsville will preach the funeral sermon.- kbz
