HOWARD E. BALDWIN

Howard E. Baldwin was born May 11, 1861 died March 19, 1909. He was the son of James and Sarah Baldwin being the second of a family of four children, the mother dying when the children were quite small, Howard from the age of six years made his home with William and Lucy Steele who were to him father and mother and it has been his and his companion's privilege to take care of and comfort them in their declining years. He was united in marriage with Martha Norman June 11, 1890. To this union were born two sons, Howard and Clarence. They with his wife, father, foster mother and two sisters survive him besides other relatives and friends. About nine years ago he and his wife united with the UB church at Otterbein. For the past three years he has been practically an invalid and as the death messenger hovered near he was able to say, "I am ready," and knowing whom he had served he went to meet Him face to face. - kbz
