NEW ROSS - Thomas M. Baker, 81, a native and life resident of this community, died at 2:20 a.m. Sunday in Carmen Nursing Home at Crawfordsville. A son of Alva P. and Sarah Ryan Baker, he was born April 23, 1888. He was a farmer and a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church of Crawfordsville. Surviving him are three nieces, Mrs. Opal Huffman and Mrs. Esther Kehoe of New Ross and Mrs. Mary Duncan of Linnsburg, and two nephews, Jesse Baker of New Ross and Russell Baker of Danville, Ind. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard Church with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry F. Ward officiating and burial in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville, where the rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. - jlr
