Applegate - Amanda Glaze

Waynetown Jan 3 - Mrs. Amanda Applegate, aged 71 years, a resident of this county for the past 40 years died at her home, 3 and 1/2 miles northeast of here, at 11 o'clock Saturday night. She had been in failing health for four years and had been seriously ill the past four months. Death was caused by complications. She was born near ROssville, Ill April 22, 1860 the daughter of James and Mary Phillips Glaze. She was married Oct 31, 1883, to Henry E. Applegate, who survives her. She was a member of the local Baptist Church. Besides the husband, the survivors are a son, Harry, living at the Henry Applegate home; one brother, Thomas Glaze, of Luray, Kansas; one half-brother, Ira Glaze of Garden City, Kansas and one step-brother, SE Grenard of near Waynetown. Services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Waynetown Baptist Church with Rev HA Elmore of Crawfordsville in charge. Burial will be at the Waynetown-Masonic cemetery.
