Anna Axsom, 89, of 812 E. College St., died Thursday in Culver Hospital. She attended the Fremont Street Baptist Church. She was educated in the Lawrence County schools. She was born in Lawrence County on Jan. 27, 1887, a daughter of John and Sarah Elizabeth Mecer. She married Landy H. Axsom. Surviving are three sons, Leland and Kenneth of Rt. 2, Crawfordsville, and Gilbert of Waynetown; a daughter, Mrs. Mamie Simms of Crawfordsville; 19 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Powers Funeral Home here with the Rev. Dick Baker officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery near Elmdale. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
