WINGATE, Ind. (CNS) — Miss Maude Auter, 84, of Wingate, died at 12:25 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 24, 1973) at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. Born Sept. 11, 1888, near Wingate, she was the daughter of Thomas "Mac" and Martha Twiddy Auter. She had never married and had resided in the same house since 1895. She was a member of the United Methodist Church since 1898 had been active in the church for many years teaching Sunday school. Miss Auter was a member of the first graduating class of Wingate High in 1908. She also attended Terre Haute Teachers College, now Indiana State University. Several cousins survive including Miss Freda Twiddy and Mrs. Dora Kessler, both of Wingate. She was preceded in death by a sister, Miss Zelma Auter. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home. The Rev. Tom True will officiate. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery, northwest of Newtown. Friend§ will be received at the funeral home after 4:30 p. m. Monday
