Wingate, April 5 -- Mrs. Martha AUTER died at her home here this morning after an illness of several months. She was suffering from a complication of diseases. Mrs Auter was 56 and was born on a farm west of Wingate. She was married to N. T. Auter but after his death 21 years ago she moved to Wingate where she has resided ever since. Mrs Auter is survived by her daughter Maude, also by two sisters, Mrs. George Hodgkin and Mrs. Wes Twiddy. The deceased was also a devoted member of the Christian Church but the funeral services will be held in ME Church here Friday morning at 10 and will be in charge of Rev OT Martin of Lafayette.

"Wingate News" -- Mrs. Marther (sic) AUTER, widow of NT Auter died at her home here on Wed morning 4:30 of a complication of diseases with which she had suffered 3 months. She was one of the best known and most highly respected women of the community and had many friends who will mourn her death. Mrs. Auter was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James TWIDDY of west of Wingate and was born at the Twiddy farm 56 years ago. 37 years ago she was married to NT Auter and the family lived on the David Foster farm near Attica until the husband died 21 years ago. .Besides the daughter, Miss Maude Auter, Mrs. Auter is survived by two sisters, Mrs. George Haxton and Mrs. Wes Twiddy of near here, three half brothers, Roscoe, James and Elmer Twiddy and one half sister, Miss Beatrice Twiddy. The deceased was a member of the Christian Church. Funeral services were held Friday morning at 10 at the ME Church by Rev OT Martin of Lafayette, formerly pastor of the ME Church and friend of the deceased. Burial was made at Greenbay Cemetery. - kbz
