Waynetown, Aug 13 -- Mrs. Maria Elizabeth Atkinson, 67, wife of William H. Atkinson, died at 4:30 this morning at her home here. She had been in failing health 2 years and seriously ill for one week with diabetes. Mrs. Atkinson was born Feb 16, 1866 in Marion, the daughter of Isaac and Nancy Westfall Wonderly. She was married Dec 2, 1886 to William H. Atkinson. She was a member of the Friends Church. When 5 she moved with her family to Independence, Kansas where she grew to womanhood, married and lived for 27 years. She then moved to Fountain County in Indiana and since has resided in that and Montgomery County. Besides the husband, those surviving include three daughters, Mrs. W.S Taylor of Cumby, TX; Mrs. Jesse Fine of near Kingman and Mrs. Vern Cedars of near Waynetown; a son, Luther Atkinson of near New Market and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tuesday afternoon at the Methodist Church here with Rev. Guy E. Tremaine in charge. Burial will be at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. - kbz
