Carrel R. Asbury, 79, of Veedersburg Route 4, died Friday evening, Dec. 9, 1977 at Carmen Nursing Home in Crawfordsville. Crumley-Williams Funeral Home, Hillsboro held rites Tuesday at the Osborn Prairie Cemetery near Stone Bluff with the Rev. Robert Boyd, pastor of Mellott United Church in charge of the services. He was a retired farmer, and belonged to the Fountain County Farm Bureau, the Veedersburg Masonic Lodge, and the Newtown United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Mellott High School. Born April 13, 1898 near Veedersburg, he was a son of George and Hattie Glascock Asbury. On November 26, 1950, he married Margaret W. Winter, and she survives. Also surviving are a son, Donald D. of Darlington; a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Nicholson of Brownsburg, Ind., four grandchildren and one great grandchild. A sister preceded him in death.--waw
