Robert "Pete" Arvin, Jr. 73, of Shelbyville, Tenn and formerly of Fountain County, died Tuesday in his residence. Mr. Arvin was a retired supervisor for Arnold Engineering Development Center, Calspan Division; a member of the first Baptist Church wher he served as a long-time deacon; a member of the American Legion; was Beford Co. commission for 10 years; served on Boards for Argie Cooper Public Library, Child Development Center, Adult Activity Center and Shelbyville Housing Authority and wa sa member of the Sr. Citizens Cetner where he participated as a volunter for the Meals on Wheels. He was a graduate of Indiana State Univ and veteran of the Air Force having served in WWII. He was born Sept 30, 1923 in Fountain County to the late Robert and Effie Carlyle Arvin, Sr. He married Lois Wiggs 50 years ago. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mick (Susan) McCoy of Deluth, Ga; and Mrs. Tomy (Mary Beth) Martin of Columbia, Tenn; a brother, Charles of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Virginia Oliver of Indianapolis and Kathryn Arvin of Crawfordsville; and 3 grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday in Hillcrest Funeral Home, Shelbyville Tenn with Rev. Drew Hayes officiating. Burial in Hillcrest Memorial Garden. - kbz

Word has been received here of the recent marriage of Robert Arvin Jr. on March 16 to Lois WIGGS at her home in Tennesse. Robert served two terms in the Army and was discharged Feb 14. He plans to take a business course at Indiana StateTeachers College.
