Howard G. Armstrong, 59, of Terre Haute, president of Meadows Manor Nursing Home and Sunset Arbor, Inc., died Tuesday afternoon at the nursing home after an illness of two months. He earlier had operated Armstrong Paint and Wallpaper Store. In 1963 he was the Republican candidate for Mayor of Terre Haute. He was married to Dorothy Binford, a former Darlington area resident and teacher in the Darlington grade school. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ball-Porter Funeral Home in Terre Haute. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Richard and Howard Jr. of Illinois and Dan, a student at Indiana State; a sister, Mrs. William Aiken, and his mother, Mrs. Tressa Armstrong of Terre Haute. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Shrine Crippled Children's Hospital.--waw - thanks Walt, you're one GREAT typist :) kbz
