New Market March 15 - Mrs. Maxie Ellen Armantrout, one of New Market's most prominent residents, died on Sunday evening at the home of her son, Henry Armantrout. She had been in failing health for the past three years. Her condition became serious about a week ago when complications arose. Mrs. Armantrout was bor in Kentucky July 16, 1843, the daughter of John and Sarah Poynts Bennett. She was married to John M. Armantrout, who died a number of years go. Mrs. Armantrout, was a member of the New Market Christian Church. She is survived by one son, Henry with whom she lived; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. William Mulligan of Linnsburg and Mrs. J. Margaret Galey of Whitesville. One daughter, Mrs. Maggie Busenbark died a number of years ago. The funeral will be held from the Christian Church at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in charge of Rev. WD Lieadrick of Indianapolis, former local pastor. Burial will be made at the Masonic Cemetery in Crawfordsville. - kbz
