NEW RICHMOND — E. Leonard Andrews, 72, New Richmond, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Home Hospital at Lafayette after being a patient for six days. Mr. Andrews had been ill for several years. He was a farmer and businessman in the Romney-New Richmond area and served as clerk-treasurer of New Richmond for five years. Mr. Andrews was a 1922 graduate of Romney High School. He was a member of New Richmond United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge and former Knights of Pythian Lodge of New Richmond and Wingate. He had lived in New Richmond since 1957. Born July 12, 1904, at Romney, he was the son of Edward W. and Fannie Webb Andrews. He was married to Lois Meharry on Feb. 18, 1931. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Edward L. of St. Johns, Ind., and Dr. Richard L. of Seattle, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Agnes) Glick of Fowler and Mrs. Robert (Virginia) Leavitt of Lafayette, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Frank (Carole) Hyneman of Columbis, Ind.; a brother, Harold of Crawfordsville; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Milford Andrews of Lafayette; and 13 grandchildren. Mr. Andrews was preceded in death by a son, Donald; two brothers, and a granddaughter. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev. Max Chase officiating. Burial will be in Meharry Cemetery north of Wingate. Masonic services are scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Saturday. Donations may be made to the Heart or American Lung associations.
