Marvin Nelson Anderson, son of Ray and Bessie Anderson was born Nov 25, 1909 and died at Essex, MO July 26, 1916, aged 6 years 8 months. On Monday the 17th, little Marvin left Darlington in company with his grandmother, Mrs. Fanny VanHook for a visit with Mrs. VanHook's brother, O.C. Priest at Essex, Mo. All went well until Friday morning the 21st when he complained of being sick. He rapidly grew worse and a telegram was immediately sent to his parents here. Mrs. Anderson hastened to his bedside, arriving there Tuesday monring and everything was done that loving hands and medical skill could possibly do. On Wednesday morning the little body was freed from pain and he fell asleep. At first it was thought the disease was infantile paralysis but later found to be brain fever. The funeral party left Essex Wednesday morning arriving here Thursday morning. The remains were taken tot he home, 5m iles north of town where the funeral services were conducted this morning at 10:30 Rev Rarrick of White Church officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. - kbz
