Mrs. Agnes Alderdice Anderson died at her home 3 miles north of Delphi, on Sunday night Jan 29, after a lingering illness from paralysis. She will be remembered by many of our older citizens, having lived here many years ago in the old home place known as the Allison property. She was the last member of this estimable family. - kbz

Agnes Elizabeth Alderdice, daughter of Rev. Thomas H. and Isabel B. Alderdice was born in Knox County, Indiana Sept 19, 1843, and died at her home in Carroll County near Delphi on Jan 29, 1922, having reached the advanced age of 78 yeas 4months and 10 days.
All her life has been spent in her native state of Indiana. Being a daughter of the manse (?) she lived with her parents in several towns and cities of Southern Indiana. On April 14, 1881, she united in marriage to John B. Anderson and they began housekeeping in Carroll County. To this union two children born, Katie Bell, who died in infancy and Dr. John HA Anderson who survives her. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son and his wife and five grandchildren, a number of distant relatives and a large number of old friends and acquaintances.  Having been brought up in a Christian home, she confessed her faith in Christ as her Lord and Savior very early in life and united with the Presbyterian Church.  After her marriage and the establishment of her home near Delphi, she transferred her membership to the First Presbyterian Church of Delphi of which she was a member at the time of her death. As long as health would permit, she was a faithful and regular attendant upon all the services of the church. Advancing years and the infirmities of old age have prevented her from enjoying those privileges in recent year but in the privacy of her room, even when life was slowly ebbing away her lips would move and those standing by would draw her near and they could catch the faint whisper repeating verse after verse of scripture and lifting up her soul in prayer. Thus, she has fallen asleep after many years of service to wait the glorious ressurection of the Saints of God. The funeral was held at the house at 10:30 o'clock yesterday morning, Rev. Rea W. Martin officiating.
