Waynetown - Elbert Ammerman, 91, a native of Alamo died Friday at his home near Victoria, Texas after a long illness. His condition became grave a week ago.

Born Oct 29, 1865 he was the son of John and Sarah Ammerman.  He married Bertie Brown at Alamo, Dec 25, 1889.  She preceded him in death in December 1953.

Mr. Ammerman lived in and near Alamo until 1908 when he moved to Oklahoma and afterward to Texas.  Surviving him are four sons, living in Texas - Horace of Yorktown; Howard of Houston; Russell of Del Rio and Homer of Victoria; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Buchanan of Reno, Nev; a sister, Mrs. Edison Fink of Crawfordsville and a brother, Wilford, residing in Oklahoma. Mr. Ammerman was preceded in death by two sons, Henry and Lawrence.

The body has been brought to the Servies Funeral Home here, where friends may call and where services will take place at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Rev. Guy Tremaine officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. - kbz
