Kingman, Ind -- Maynard D. ALWARD, 57, of Monticello a former resident of Kingman died Sunday morning Sept 27, 1970 at the National Nursing Home, Lafayette where he had been a patient since Sept 4. Born Jan 13, 1913 in Jackson Twp Fountain County he was the son of George and Harriet Byrd Alward. Mr. Alward had been employed at the RCA factory in Monticello and was a vet. of WWII, serving in the European Theater. Survivors include 3 sons: George; David and Billy at home; a daughter Ruby at home and a brother, Earl of Kingman Rt 1. Services will be at 2:30 p.m Tuesday at the Woodrow Funeral Home, Kingman with burial in Centennial Cemetery east of Yeddo. Friends may calla t the funeral home after 6 p.m. Monday.

Kingman —Maynard D. Alward, a resident of Monticello, died early Sunday morning in the National Nursing Home at Lafayette. He had been a patient since Sept. 4. Mr. Alward was born in Jackson Township in Fountain County on Jan. 13, 1913 to George and Harriet Byrd Alward. He was an employe of the RCA plant at Monticello and served in Europe during WWII. Survivors include a daughter, Ruby at home; three sons, George, David and Billy, all at home; a brother, Earl Alward of Kingman, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman. Interment will be in Centennial Cemetery near Yeddo. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Monday.
