Alward - Mary Gooding

Mrs. Mary Gooding Alward, 87, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alfred Crone in the Wolf Creek neighborhood, south of Kingman at 8:30 o'clock Sunday night after an illness of 15 months. Mrs. Alward suffered a stroke of paralysis which caused her illness. Born Sept 18, 1860 near Wallace, Mrs. Alward was the daughter of Thomas and Phoebe Sowers Gooding. Her marriage to George T. Alward took place Dec 24, 1881. Mr. Alward died several years ago. In addition to the daughter of at whose home Mrs. Alward died, a son, Eston Alward of RFD 1, Marshall also survives, together with 5 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services at the Wolf Creek Baptist church at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in charge of Rev. Cornelius Airhart of New Market. Burial was in Wolf Creek Cemetery.
