Crawfordsville, Ind – Rites are being planned for Dr. Frank D. Allhands, 83-year-old retired Montgomery County physician. He died at his home here yesterday. A native of Charleston, Dr. Allhands had practiced 40 years at Wingate before retiring recently.

Wingate – Dr. Frank D. Allhands, 83, Wingate physician for 40 years, died Wednesday in his home one and a half miles west of Cherry Grove. He had been ill 18 months and death was from pneumonia. Born at Charlestown, he was married Oct 8, 1901 to Georgia Goodwin. He attended Borden Normal Institute and taught school for 7 years in the southern part of the state. He was graduated from the Kentucky School of Medicine now the University of Louisville School of Medicine. In 1902 he took a post graduate course at the NY Polytechnical School of Medicine. During his 40 years of practice at Wingate, he took only one vacation. He retired in 1938. Surviving besides the widow are three sons, Dallas G. Allhands, living in California; Tyler Allhands of Oregon and Franklin D. Allhands of New Richmond; a daughter, Mrs. Vashti Annet at home; two brothers, Robert Allhands of Wingate and Plez Allhands of Attica; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Stansberry of Ferington and Mrs. Ada Smith of Indianapolis. – kbz
