Attica – John F. “Jack” Allhands of Attica died at 9:53 p.m. Tuesday in the Veterans Home, West Lafayette.  He had been in failing health the past five months.  Born July 27, 1924 in Attica, he lived here most of his life and was a graduate of Attica HS.  He moved to Kingman two years ago and lived there until moving to the Home two weeks ago.  Mr. Allhands worked at Harrison Steel Casting for a time and later was with Zufall Agency in Williamsport.  He was last employed at the Indianapolis Highway Department, Abstract division, Indianapolis.  A Navy veteran of World War II he was member of Attica-Williamsport American Legion Post 259.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter and member of National Rifle Association.  Surviving are three sons,  Bruce Allhands of Lafayette, Bradley Allhands of Kingman, Barry Allhands of Williamsport; half sister, Mrs. Leora Weilage of Jeffersonville.   --transcribed by kbz
