Crawfordsville – Richard W. Allen, 93, former Montgomery County treasurer and former Darlington hardware Merchant, died in the Rudisill Nursing Home here at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. He had been ill three weeks. Born in Montgomery County, he was county treasurer two terms and formerly owned a hardware store at Darlington. He built one of the first automobile service stations in Montgomery County. He had lived in the Ramsey Hotel 14 years. He was married in 1903 to Daisy Simpson who died several years ago. There are no immediate survivors. - kbz
