The remains were brought here the next day and on Saturday place in the vault at Forest Hill. Mr. Allen was serving as store-keeper at the time of his death at the Terre Haute distillery, an appointment which he received through the influence of Col. Voorhees. He was the eldest son of the late WD Allen, and if he had lived 25 days longer would have been 49 years old. One son, Dwight, survives him.
