Irene A. Allen, 85 a resident of Ben Hur Convalescent Home died Saturday morning in Culver union Hospital. Mrs. Allen was a member of the Wallace Christian Church where she taught Sunday school. She attended school in Illinois and Indiana and graduated from Crawfordsville HS in 1932. She was born Oct 17, 1913 in Coles County, Illinois to William E. and Bessie Jane Davis Petty. She married Cyril Max Allen on June 24, 1933. He died Nov 24, 1995. Survivors include a son, Max of Phoenix, Az; three sisters, Beulah Hutchison of Cloverdale and Marguerite Plunkett and Ruby Rush both of Crawfordsville and a granddaughter. A brother is deceased. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 S. Indiana 25, Waynetown. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
