Mrs. Ida Jane Allen, 72. died at noon Monday at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. DW Allen of Rt 8, Lafayette. She had been in failing health about six months.  Born Dec 30, 1891 in Parke County she was a daughter of Henry and Julia Hendricks Wendall. She married Ethan Allen April 4, 1912. They married at Rockville. Mrs. Allen resided in the Garfield community 22 years. Prior to that she had lived at Attica, Newtown, Wingate and Wallace. She attended the Weasel Pete School in Parke County and was a member of the Smartsburg Home Demonstration Club, Christian Church and Ladies Aide Society of the church.  Survivors include the son of whose home she died, her husband, who resides on Rt 1, Crawfordsville; two brothers, William Wendall of Stone Bluff and Lon Wendall of Rt 7, Crawfordsivlle; four sisters, Mrs. Ella Wallage of California; Mrs. Marie Whitsell of Bloomington, Ill; Mrs. Belle Glick of Paris, Ill; and Mrs. Opal Hurst of Christman, Ill; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Interment will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
