Allen - Frank Fine

Frank Fine Allen, 97, died at 7 p.m. Saturday in Lane house. He had lived in the Indianapolis are for about 40 years and was a retired principal. He had worked at schools at Wallace, Jamestown, Otterbein and New Richmond. Mr. Allen was a WWI veteran and member of the Wallace Masonic Lodge, Byron Cox Post of American Legion at Crawfordsville and Phanuel Lutheran Church at Wallace.  He graduated from Alama HS and Wabash College in 1915. He earned his master's degree from Indiana University in 1930.


Mr. Allen was born Jan 8, 1891 south of Wallace to Hiram D. and Emma Myers Allen. He was married to Sarah Ann Foster on Dec 27, 1920 at Crawfordsville. She died in 1957. Surviving are a son, Gordon of Indianapolis, a brother, Wilbur Emmett Allen of Seal Beach, Calif; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A son, Donald F, six brother and two sisters are deceased.  Funeral services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Karl Korbel officiaitng. - kbz

The papers Monday announced that a man murdered in California last week has been identified as F. N. Allen, whose parents reside at Rockville. Some here think that the man may be Dr. Frank Allen, who at one time attended Wabash College. Dr. Allen is a brother of Homer Allen, ’95, and is supposed to be located at Beatrice, Neb.
